Ariston Fridge Freezer MBA 3831V no longer freezing

Hi there,

Defrosted the fridge freezer (not a frost free type) now the freezer won’t freeze fully.
Fridge is fine but the three coloured lights were flashing, manual says this is excessive heating in the freezer.
I tried several times to reset it over a few days but got it going on the last attempt, I’m now seeing if it stays cold overnight.

Any ideas what it might be or how I can “cure” it?

Though knowing Ariston it may mean a sledgehammer! :rolls:

could well be a weak compressor

they do tend to run ok if its already frozen, but when u defrost, it struggles to reach the correct pressure

see how you go on overnight

Thanks for the reply.

Finally got it going, the freezer dial had actually broken, so while it seemed to turn it didn’t actually do anything. Pulled it out and used a screwdriver to turn the recessed dial to off and left it for a while.

This seemed to work when I turned it back on!
