Model: Ariston MBA 3842C upright Fridge freezer

A couple of days ago the lightbulb within the fridge blew so I replaced with a new 15W bulb, and the light now works, however we have noticed that the light remains on even when the door is closed (as can be deduced from the temperature of the bulb and plastic cover).

Now we are not sure if the light was permanently on prior to the bulb replacement, but anyideas what may be cause of problem ?

I have tried to identify what is the mechanism the for identifying when door is opened and was expecting to see some kind of pressure type switch on the door or frame, but cannot see anything.

    Thanks

    Re: Ariston fridge light problem

From the parts diagram it appears to be controlled by a sensor in the door (no tech info available from Merloni as is normally the case for their products :(),

Personally I would remove the bulb and not worry about the light as the solution may well be an expensive repair to be honest.

    Dave.
