ariston K642R VS/G oven fault

Am in need of help.
The oven dosn’t heat up-the fan comes on as does the light, but the element dosn’t. The inner element gets red hot when you put the grill on, but as soon as you put the oven switch over to use the oven, it goes off. Could it be the oven switch or is it the element? (The thermostat works fine though.)

Assuming that the oven fan runs, the element is the most likely culprit.
