Thanks for the swift reply! Did what you said – quite a lot of water in the cavity underneath – mopped it up and couldn’t believe it when it started up OK! I assume there’s some kind of contact switch down there to stop water flooding out – nice idea!
Only problem now is to figure out where leak is coming from – are there any obvious candidates you know of, and how easy is it to replace seals (if that’s the problem).
Sorry about the rubbish name – I thought I was being ironic about Merloni.September 7, 2004 at 7:48 am #114752Dave_Conway

Yes, it’s a flood protection device.

Hi
I am having a similar problem with my Ariston. Water in the base, left hand green light flashing. Turned off, emptied base of water, switched back on and now no cycle lights at all! I can get the left light to flash by raising the float, if I then shut the door it will pump and then stop. If I turn off, no light again and no amount of pressing buttons will illuminate a cycle light.
Does this sound like a problem with the flood switch? Could this be diagnosed by temporarily bypassing the switch? Are wiring diagrams available for these machines?
Thanks in advance
Jonathan

No 🙁

No 😥

No 👿
Sorry for all the negatives there Jonathan, it sounds to me as if the water in the base has caused further damage to other compoments. May be time for an engineer to check for you ?
Check the directory listings or let us have your postcode, someone should be able to help.

Two repair companies I can up with for you:
Sellens Service 01732 521500
M V Services (London) Ltd 01303 237002
Both cover CT potcodes.
Please let whichever you choose know that you got the number from Uk Whitegoods.
Hope this helps.

KeymasterHi,
I had this problem, found this forum and did what Dave Conway said. I tilted the machine and got all the water out… After that it works like a charme! 🙂
(Actually my girlfriend had been working with candle wax over the sink that hardend in the drainage where the washing machine connects in to it….)
Thanks very much! Sorry for my english – I’m from Iceland 😉

Well done Andri – just make sure that you check that the drain coupling is clear of all obstructions – candle wax or otherwise.

Second from the left (or LED 2) is a no fill fault, possibly the inlet valve, pressure switch related or blockages may cause this.
Power off please if you look further :zap: or if you’d prefer an engineer to check this out for you, check the repairs@ link below 🙂

My dishwasher has been playing up, often needing to be powered off at the mains to reset the board. Last week it started doing nothing but cold rinses even if other cycles were set.
Got a new board, popped it in and now the two middle lights are on constantly and nothing else!
Anyone know what is going on? Any help appreciated, thanks
Richard
edit – found some error & test codes here but they are all aboutflashing lights and mine are constant http://velofille.com/2009/03/24/ariston … ght-codes/
