ParticipantHi Folks,
My Ariston LS815 is not exactly in first youth but has had a new pump not long back so I’m still keen to keep it going if possible.
I suspect that there may be a discontinuity in the wiring and would guess (logically) it is in one wire where the loom goes into the door. The machine will occasionaly work full cycle but more often gets part way through and then just keeps running without the cycle progressing.
Can anyone advise whether this is an expected fault, or am I way off beam?
Is a replacement loom an available option (I would be competent to fit it myself but fear the likely cost) or do I need to sit with a meter and test each individual wire? Are there specific coloured or locations of wire that I should concentrate on, if so?
I would be most grateful for any advice on this one. I’ve just waded through the 54 pages of topics on the forum but can’t see anything similar from the past!
Many thanks,
Pete

Good Lord that’s an old contraption for sure Pete 😉
Reading your post here in the Peoples Republic Of Pamber Heath I would suggest maybe the heating element has failed? Or is it actually getting hot in there when it fails to progress?
To be honest, it could be anything, including a broken wiring harness? But do un-plug it before messing about though please! 😉

Hi Martin,
Wow! Long distance communication!! Fancy a pint in the Calleva later?
Thanks for the reply.
Heating is absolutely fine. I had suspected an inlet solenoid at one stage but that has been disproved.
Machine is currently out of the kitchen, (unplugged!) with door stripped down. As I said, I do judge myself at least marginally competent…
The initially intermittent and increasing nature of the fault is the reason for suspecting wiring and with the number of times the door has been opened and closed the passage across the hinge must be suspect?
TTFN,
Pete

Indeed so and now being as you have the door stripped down, should be easy enough to check. 😉
