I have a problem with my LSI 61.

It started with a wash cycle not clearing the water from the base of the dishwasher. I stopped the cycle and cleared the small amount of water from the base manually with a cup.

I then tried to run a quick rince cycle, but all it did was give a low hum and never started.

Now everytime I open the door the full wash light is flashing, and when I press the on/off button to turn it on, the pump starts to suck water out of the unit without closing the door?

I have placed a cup of water into the waste section and it sucks it all out cleanly but it will not move on. And I am worried as to why it is starting without closing the door? This has never happened before.

Any help / advice most welcome. Thank you.

If the pump is running with the door open it’s likely the base is flooded (possible internal leak).

Gently lean the dishwasher backwards or forwards and see if any water runs out from underneath (towells at the ready ;)).

Its not looking good – I have checked for service engineers and it appears there are none in my area (pe19).

I have checked things again this morning and things have changed slightly. Now when I turn the unit on, the power light comes on but the flashing has now stopped, in fact the service type lights are not illuminating at all, even if I press the wash select program button.

If I shut the door, nothing. To my very untrained eye, it looks like a pcb issue? 🙁

From my remote location it is difficult to assess. If you carry out the usual checks i.e Fuse intact? Reset programmer? Clean Filters etc. And if that does not solve the problem I recommend calling out a local independent company to take a look.

    PCB’s aren’t expensive either 😉

It will need to come out I’m afraid.

It may not actually resolve the problem of course, only help in checking if the base flooded is actually the cause.

Re: Ariston LSI 61 / Problem

Huge thanks you to everybody helping with this, I have found a sticker with a number which seems to be a nationwide service company, I have phoned them and they are looking at ~£140 to come and repair whatever the fault is and give the machine a 12month warranty. This seems expensive but not knowing whats wrong its cheaper than a new unit.

Any views on this type of agreement?

Re: Ariston LSI 61 / Problem

I have similar with mine, and been quoted same – 95 for call out plus parts, or 140 for a warranty covering call outs over next year.

Anyone more reasonble near me, or would I just be better off buying a new one (it’s 4-5 years old)?

    All advice appreciated
