Ariston LSI61 – Not heating water

Afraid my Ariston is acting up once again.
Current issue is that the water is not heating at all.

I have checked the element for continuity which is OK
I have checked the thermostat for continuity which is OK,assuming the thermostat should be normally open – i cant tell as the unit only has the mark of the manufacturer campini on it.

It may be related but i have noticed that the soap dispenser doesnt open but this appears to be restricted to the Primary wash cycle.

Another thread suggested to look at the wiring harness around the door, while i’m at it i may just take the door off and check the dispenser.

Any other ideas ?

Ok, i decided to take a gamble and after reading the haynes dishwasher manual (recommended) i tested the heating element and thermostat.
these were all ok so the next item to check was the timer.

Well this model has a pcb as a timer so theres not a lot i could do with this. It wasnt worth replacing on the off chance, but then i found http://www.qer.biz where i could send for repair.

Well 36 hrs later and its all fixed, now washing as before !

Unfortunately i still have a problem with the soap dispenser not opening
but thats another fault which isnt so serious
