Participanthi guy,s can anyone help ,was at a ariston a1635 today the motor is fine in the spin cycle, but on a wash cycle it trys to turn ,but just turns slowly for a few turns then sticks,,i have checked ,motor carbons ,they are ok. could it be the control board,

KeymasterI have had few times that mistake: more likely is motor time to change (try with other).
Or: collector from motor is too dirty (carbon brush do not make contacts), wires, EPROM, PCB but more often is first one.
Did you try it full loaded or empty?March 8, 2007 at 1:11 am #206917sandysuds

Does the motor make that “Ong” noise when energised? If it does, it’s finished.

Wild guess if motor ok and pcb ok pressure switch/chamber or heating element? ❓

KeymasterRe: ariston margarita a1635
Assuming that you verified PCB for dry joints related to motor relays, perhaps I would verify again wires from motor stator to PCB (more exactly on motor you have one coil with an middle point= three wires). Because on spinning use pole coil and middle point instead of washing when use entire stator coil. Verify also motor connector plug on PCB. 😉
Other possibility is coming from: damaged EPROM and water level don’t force pressure switch to switch on full position (valve, triac or pressure switch). 😕
It’s very important to know if he is finishing program without rotation on wash part?… 8)March 18, 2007 at 10:06 pm #206923Tony_EMW

This sounds like the classic board fault – groggy wash but spin ok. Who tested the board ? Call us on 01159652118 if you want to try a module – I think this will sort it out ! Tony

QER tested the module and said no fault was found ,it cost £25 .40.to find that out

QER eh? Oh dear that was pricey. 🙁
Tony at EMW gives a far far better service and his pricing is a lot more realistic, even just to test the board. 😉

We charge £5+vat to test any board and that includes first class return postage ! Send it to us – I am fairly sure the board will be at fault. You can reclaim the QER test fee. No disrespect to QER but I don’t think they have the full gear to test / repair these. Tony 0115 9652118
