    Hi all
:?When i replaced the eeprom in this AWD12.uk because of a no spin problem the machine just goes into the filling and emptying whilst control knob clicks round mode. Replace the old chip and the machine works fine apart from the spin part. What am i doing wrong? Does it need re-configuring or something?

    Hi Hotpnt

Whats confusing me here is the only fault with the machine is it dosn’t seem to go into a full spin. When i had a look at the module believe it or not there was a dead mummyfied frog with his face stuck to a couple of resisters on the board. So i had the board tested but no fault found and was told it was the eeprom, hence fitted new eeprom. But what it does with the new eeprom it would do with the old one would it not, if there was a fault elsewhere?

    cheers

well could be a couple of things, you need to be carefull with these eeproms as there is an AWD12UK model and an AWD12SUK, they have different eeprom files, the number of flashes could show this as a fault code 9, need really to know how many flashes you are getting to be sure though. ive had modules with slugs fried on them that have wrecked the board,

    thanks!

I am puzzled. Who tested the board and diagnosed an eprom ? It’s pretty rare to find boards that just need eproms to put them right. I suspect the wrong eprom. Send it to us and we will test it AND read the eprom to make sure it is the correct one. Tony EMW 01159 652118

    Re: Ariston Margaritta Eeprom

I have not had much experience with this machine,

hope I am not stating the obvouis but, in the past I have had a lot of experiance with programming gate arrays and Eproms and because a Eprom is an array of floating gate transistors, which are programmed by higher voltages burning the internal connections. In my experiance it is vey very rare that a certain part of the eprom will have a fault (unlesss its in the manufacturing stage of the silicon die) If there is a short on the PCB it is more likly to take out the whole Eprom. I think I would check out the motor drive voltages and trace back to the motor drive components on the PCB look at and relays & switching components.

Good luck !! (sorry if I sound a bit geeky) Ha Ha !!
