ParticipantHi
I have a problem with my washer dryer combo from ariston
…..guess that won´t raise much eyebrows. It acted a little funny last week and the clothes came out somewhat
more wet than usual. no dryer in that cycle.
but last night when i got home and tried to turn on a machine
nothing happend
no red light
no flashing red light
no turning knob klicking
nothing
checked the socket and it has power alright
but it won´t turn on.what can be wrong ?!
Should i just put away my toolbelt and call for help ?!?
Best Regards
Joakim ….. (from sweden i might add)

Hi Joakim
If you’ve tried another appliance in the same socket and that’s ok then open up the plug to the washing machine and check that. The fuse may have failed so you could try another one although beware that this may fail as soon as you switch on. If it does, or the machine still doesn’t work then you will require an engineer to investigate…it may have a faulty on/off switch, a faulty door lock, or a component inside may have an earth fault.

ParticipantJoakim – either very simple – on/off switch failure, or rather complicated – computer board failure. Given that you have commented that the machine was not working correctly before, I would think the computer is the more likely problem.
Time to get the engineer…….

Well a fuse in the fusebox went out so i replaced that
and tried a blowdryer in the socket wich worked finethen plugged in the ariston once again and ….. nothing.
any idea how much this will cost to repair in parts.. worst case scenario ??!
thanks for really fast replies.
i guess i will go and make the call now.// J

clandestine,
I sounds like the main Computer Board has failed I’m afraid 🙁
It can be repaired here in the UK using :-
http://emwelec.co.uk/Otherwise a new board is very costly and may be uneconomical to repair 😥 .
:zap: DO PULL THE PLUG FIRST before removing the back panel :plug:
