Hello, My margerita has had this problem before and it appeared to right itself, but it is back. I starts a wash and takes on some water, but before the drum spins it clicks continuously and the dial spins round and round. The red light flashes 8 times, does any know what that fault code is. I have tried removing the inspection cover on the front but it is very very stiff and I am affraid of breaking it, should it be this stiff to spin round in either direction, does anybody have any tips for removing the cover?
I have a feeling this is just a stupid fault with the machine and not something serious because it has righted itself before when I reset it by holding in the power button for 3 seconds when it was set to the blue dot. however, this is no longer working

Cheers and hello to all the other owners of crappy ariston machines who wish they had bought somehting decent.

Nothing to see taking the front off. 8 flashes is one of the most difficult to trace/rectify. It is supposed to indicate a fault on the control module related to the heater but long and very bitter experience often shows that it can be one of several components, or a combination of them, loose contacts etc, etc.

One reason why lots of people in the trade run a mile when they hear the dreaded words “eight flashes”

Due to the high cost of the control module I would advise seeking expert help. Try the link in my sig and please be sure to remove the plug if you intend to proceed further.
