ARISTON MARGHERITA 2000 AB95. I have one of these machines as well with a very common fault. The dial has suddenly gotten a mind of it’s own anad revolves non stop not selecting any particular cycle. I have removed the pump inspection plug to find what looks to be a spring of some kind in the form of a flat metal strip bent into a U-like shape with a blue tip on one end and a white tip on the other. Is this item meant to be in there? It jumped out at me like a jack in the box and i can’t see how it should be replaced. The machine also soundsd like there is an obstruction in the pump when draining. Any tips would be great. Thanks in advance. ❓

Whatever it is, its not meant to be in there. Someone is not checking pockets correctly. :rolls: You may have other foreign bodies in the pump housing or the pump may be damaged.

Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to try and remove the pump to inspect.

When the timer knob starts to waltz round you need to count the number of flashes between pauses from the mains neon and report back.

If you could post a pic of the thing you found we may be able to have a guess as to what it is, or you could ask members of the family if they recognise it. 😉
