I TURN IT ON, AND INSTEAD OF THE LIGHT FLASHING REALLY QUICKLY IT FLASHES VERY SLOWLY AND DIAL CLICKS ROUND IT FINALLY STARTS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT’S FILLING UP, WATER COMES INTO THE DETERGENT TRAY BUT IT DOESNT SEEM TO BE GOING ANYWHERE ELSE
I DONT HAVE THE MANUAL ANYMORE BUT I REMEBER IT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT WHEN IT CLICKS ROUND IT IS REPORTING AN ANOMOLY AS IT DID THIS WHEN IT WAS UNABLE TO DRAIN CORRECTLY.
I CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH IT WOULD MEAN IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME IM AT MY WITS END AND REALLY CAN’T AFFORD TO CALL A PLUMBER!! AARRRGGGGHH

Now why would you call a plumber to fix your washing machine ❓

When the light starts to flash, as the control knob revolves, count the number of flashes and report back. Someone may be able to give you some idea of the area of your problem with this information.

While the dial is clicking around the light will be flashing. It will flash so many times then pause then flash so many times again. You need to count the number of flashes and then post again and someone will help.
It seems like the end of the world when the washing machine breaks but there is no need to SHOUT. 😆

i’ve counted 12 flashes but i just tried again and i don’t think it pauses it just flashes 12 times really slowly….. and now i hate it

12 flashes suggests an electronic or connection fault.
You could have a look at Repairs@ to see if there is someone near you who could help.
Whatever you do, don’t send for a plumber. 😉

i can’t thank you enuf i live in a shady council flat so electrics might be covered by them i have my suspicions this may be their fault as all the lights have been surging.

Sorry, I may not have made that clear. The fault could be in the electronics or wiring of your machine, you do need expert attention from a ‘washing machine’ engineer.
