ariston margherita 2000 awd12 won’t spin and light flashing

the machine started not draining from programme 8 and the spin wont work, the water stays in the drum and the red light starts flashing so fast i cant count it and it wont stop. if i try to reset by switching off and turn to the red dot and switch on again all that happens is that the red light goes nuts until i turn off. then if i try to run a cycle then the thing fills and then seems to get to the end of a rinse cycle and then wont spin and drain and the dial just clicks round of its own accord.

please help

Have you checked the pump filter?

yeah just dome it and it seems to be all good thanks god for that, but i am very impressed with this forum nice one and thanks for the answer much appreciated

If the control knob starts to click round you need to count the number of flashes from the mains light, it will flash a set number of times and then pause and repeat.

Also worth checking your undersink plumbing to make sure there is no obstruction in the grey outlet pipe.
