Ariston Margherita 2000 Problem

Hi folks,

My Ariston doesn’t heat up the water. Nor does the dryer heat up.

Other than that it does go through the usual washing/dryer cycle.

Could it be a thermostat problem?

Kirk, they’re all “Margy 2000s” – which one have you got? Model number in corner of control panel.

Hi Penguin45,

Sorry for taking so long to answer.

My machine is a ‘AWD12’.

I’m so broke that I need to find out as much as I can about the fault before calling out an engineer! So any help is gratefully received.

So it doesn’t go into fault mode?

If it’s not heating the water on wash, it should be flashing it’s light at you, and have the programmer knob rotating 😕

Kirk , it`s very unlikely this washing machine is completing its cycle if not heating the water , remember it`s only at the initial wash when the water is heated and all rinses are in cold water.
Try it on a 90C program and you should certainly feel the heat.

May well be that the dryer is faulty and not giving you heat but this is a seperate issue and an experienced engineer would be my advice.

Check repairs@ on the left of this page.

Power off if you do decide to look further yourself :zap:

Thanks Bryan.

The knob definitely doesn’t turn, however the light does continuously flash at the end of the washing cycle, but not in any ‘groups’ as if it were morse code. It just blinks regularly.

Thanks again for all your help folks. Have been recommending this site to the ‘technically challenged’ at the office.

I’ll be getting that engineer.
