ParticipantThe pump on my machine was blocked whilst trying to lay the machine on its back to get the pipe off the machine slipped and banged on to the floor
my problem now when i tried a 30 min wash it starts- goes through a wash cycle it starts to spin slowly then stops spinning and the dial goes around constantly and the light flashes 6 times can any one tell me what the 6 flashes mean as I’ve read this is a code the engineers use to identify a problem
also noticed the door lock light when machine is off is flashing fast, its not very bright like when the door is locked
any help appreciatedSeptember 3, 2007 at 11:31 am #226464paulwgun

F8 is usually a heater related fault – remove the back panel and check the wires to the heater. The PCB should be to the left of the machine (looking in from the back). Check all the connector blocks are pushed fully home.
Did any water from the pump splash on the PCB? If it did get wet it could mean trouble. 🙁
If it still doesn’t work, click the Repairs @ banner for an approved engineer in your area.
Power off, plug out before any inspection. :plug: Stay alive!!!HTH,
Steve.

8 flashes usually indicates heater relay fault or associated with that, I doubt it would be the heater, more likely to be board edge connector or if your unlucky the board itself, one other thing you could check is the pressure switch and hose. Take hose off p/switch and blow down it to see if p/chamber is clear and also gently blow into p/switch you should get a good possitive click (obviously this is all done with m/c disconnected from mains)
