oh well at least you know it is working and now know what to ask for when you come to replace it wash length rather than spin speed for eg
does your model have a quick wash you could use note wash quality will decrease if it doesAugust 16, 2006 at 10:18 pm #185096madrat
ParticipantIt dose and it has a normal 40 wash to. When I finally gave it to Son and his girlfriend I told them to read the manual or it goes cuckoo, you cant even just turn the dial if you want to change the program if you do it starts clicking round to the program you started on. Glad I dont have it or it would drive me up the wall and the wife said the same. still for £45 cant complain.

Once again – to change programme: Switch off, set dial to black dot. Switch on, wait for the flicker from the power lamp. Switch off, set to what you want and switch back on. After the flicker, it’ll do what you’ve told it to. Honest. Allowing for the fact that it’s an Indesit……

Yes I know haw to do it now but whats wrong with just being able to twist the knob!

The knob is just a selector on that machine. If you move it mid cycle, the module gets confused hence the knob clicking itself to infinity and beyond.
If its on a programme leave it alone, it has enough problems without any external meddling trust me 😆Greg

As far as I know Turkey is the place of manufacture. Reasonable appliances, refrigeration particularly reliable and good value.

I dont know why people slag them off so much, we had a washer that was ultr reliable and realy good performance apart from the spin but it was only an 800 rpm, my sister had a 1000 spin and this was much better they lasted for 5 years and cost under £200 brill value in my opinion, same with our dish washer £189 briliant performance and no probs, if you spend £200 on an apliance and it dies after 5 years you dont care.

Ah – the “we’re new, look at us phase”….. Presumably you had a WM1080, quite good for the price. PCB used to blow up, but it was cheap. Trouble is, after the introductory period, they decide they have to make some money – usually, things go down hill at this point……..
Personally, I don’t have a problem with Beko – simple appliances, reasonable prices for spares – perhaps not particularly durable, but how much do you expect for the price? A Miele washer will cost 4 times as much, but is designed to last 20 years – if you got 5 years from your Beko washer, that’s about right!
And they are made by Beko, part of the Arcelik company, in Turkey.

ParticipantThank you
Yes the PCB went on mine after 3 years but was cheap to replased about £35 I think, we have a good friendly enginer.
But as you said in anothe post Miele parts are pricy and hard to get hold of. You can get parts for most other makes on line from hundreds of outlets.

HELLP
The washer has started to sloly fill up over night, its not coming from the drain pipe I have checked by removing it from the wast pipe. Can the inlet valves get scaled up? Is it posable to clean them? any other ideas?
Think I read on hear that someone had a simaler problem and did a hot wash and that solved it, I might give that a try but any help would be appreshiated.
😯

The water inlet valve will need replacing to cure, cleaning is not possible. With the machine unplugged, the water tap on and the internal hose removed from the valve. Is the best way of determining which valve is the culprit? A replacement available through our Shop@ site 😉

if it s fillinf overnight most likely is one of the inlet valves
best way to find out is turn the cold off and leave the hot on one night then alternate the next i usually find it is the hot and is just junk out of the pipes never heard of being able to clean one just replace itAugust 24, 2006 at 7:39 pm #185109madrat

Its the hot one. If you remove the draw you can see it dripping in at the back. Will be ordaring a new one when Dave gets back in touch.
Thanks everyone.
