Oh so the module might be at fault. I was not sure about the 7 KOhms difference between the expected & Actual readings in the thermistor. thanks again martin. the engineer who told me the motor was at fault said he had replaced the circuit board which I asume to be that module but I will check all the connections. shall I do a continuity check on the thermistor and heater wires between the module & heater/thermistor terminals.
How much would a module cost to try?could the motor really be at fault to cause this problem?

It cannot be ruled out I’m afraid as errors and error codes are not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} accurate, especially with Ariston…. 😯

well I checked out the board and cannot see any damage. all the connections look ok, removed and refitted all the connectors. switched on machine and still giving fault code 3. before I go for a board are there any tests that can be done on the motor or do you recommend a new board?
