Ariston Margherita AWD12 Dryer Not Heating

Ariston Margherita AWD12 Advantage Washer/Dryer. Can anyone help my washer/dryer won’t heat up on on the drying cycle. I have fitted a new thermistor and a heater element but still no joy it just won’t heat up. And now i’m getting ear ache!!!

The next step is to check the machine with the proper electrical test equipment rather than replacing parts first. Did you check the element and thermistor before changing, fault could be any number of places, impossible to guess from here, stats, wiring, control PCB, dryer control, etc, etc. Please remove plug if you intend to proceed further yourself.

i have now ckecked all the wiring on neutrals and lives for continuity and and the only wire i can’t get to pass current is the (pink/salmon colour) wire coming off of the heater element with the resistor? covered by a heat sleave from which i have 240v on both connections of the heater element when testing back to the incomming neutral connection block. should this wire pass current it also won’t give any resistance. any help would be much appreciated. I am a corgi registered heating engineer and this is doing my headin. 😀

This is likley to be the faulty part, it will only show resistance in one direction (if it’s not faulty) if you take off the cover you will see it has a point at one end this shows the correct direction. I have replaced quite a few of this parts recently.
Remember to unplug the appliance and to check that the appliance is not live before commencing work

this wire can only be installed in one direction (different connectors) do you know what this parts is called and or the part number? 😀

Overheat situation. Condenser housing full of fluff is always a good bet. Beware of very sharp edges if investigating.

😀 thank for the info have cleaned out the fan housing and as far down the drum as i can get but that was after it stopped working i’ve emailed for the part so fingers crossed eh. thank again i’ll keep the site posted. Top Site 😀 😀

Condenser housing is the big plastic moulding under the fan housing. Defo worth investigating.
