Ariston Margherita AWD125

Hi

My Ariston AWD125 has developed a fault whereby it causes the house RCCB to trip when it starts to spin. There is also a fairly strong burning smell coming from it. I suspect that the drum motor has failed.

I’m fairly technically competent and willing to have a go at fixing it myself but any tips would be gratefully received as would contact details of anyone able to supply parts for this machine. I am in SE London. Any ideas on the cost of a replacement motor?

Sorry, I didn’t make a note of the serial number but will get it and update later if it’s relevant?

Just to confirm the model number is AWD12S rather than AWD125 ?

If it is, the motor is part number C00074221 at £108.73 from Merloni 😯 and it does sound like that is the problem I’m afraid.

Yes it could well be AWD12s rather than 125 – i did read it VERY early this morning 😉

Ouch! That’s pretty pricey 😯

I’ve found a number on the Merloni website for parts – 08709 077 077 – is this the best place to get it from?
