ARISTON MARGRARITA 2000 Advice

Have recently moved in to a flat with an Ariston Margharita 2000 washer/dryer. It is silver in colour and looks no more than 2 years old, if that. No instruction manual so having to guess how to operate.

So firstly does anyone know where I can download or otherwise source a manual?

Secondly how does the dryer operate? There are two dials that pop out when pushed that look like they control the dryer. One seems to be a timer and the other a temperature setting. Is that correct? Also there are some symbols on the dials that I am not familiar with – two look like a pair of doors with one being in bolder print than the other. Also a star and other strange symbols from memory I think. At the moment if the timer is set to say 40, and you then forget to turn it back to zero after use, the dryer automatically statrts at the end of the next wash. Already ruined some bits because of that. Why does it not count down to zero like all the other washer/dryers I have had and you reset the time the next time? Is it broken or am I using it the wrong way?

Margherita 2000 is a generic name only waster 😉

The model number (I assume) as shown on the front of the machine below the main programmer “knob” is AW12S ADVANTAGE. This number also appears on the plate (sticker) behind the door as AWD 12 S UK. The serial (S/N) Number shown is 406103915.80260970030, again on plate (sticker)behind door.

The machine is a silver colour and is probably less than 12 months old on reflection.

There does not appear to be a filter anywhere to clean out either. Tried pulling at the plinth but that does not appear to be removeable? Plus the issue about how the drier operates still remains. Can make it work ok but do not know what controls what and how!!!

Any advice gratefully receieved.

AWD12SUK is the model number.

The plinth does come off to reveal the filter, if you go the link I provided you can order the manual from Merloni (no download for this model :()

Thanks for the advice. Have contacted Indesit for a manual.

However, was trawling around and found that the Ariston USA site (link via North America by clicking Ariston logo on bottom right ofthe Hotpoint Home Page then where it says Market on new screen scroll down and select North America and click enter. Then click on Customer Care on right side of page then on go under heading of Care and Use Manuals on bottom cntre of new page. Then click washer dryers on new page and then where it says Products Available click show products. You will then get a page for the AWD 120 washer dryer. Whilst the electrical spec will obviously be based upon 110v rather than 220/240v the rest of the machine appears to be identical. Then, under Services on right hand side of page click on Download the manual. You get a 60 page manual with the first section in English. This is the link for the Manual in PDF format. May not be precise replica of UK version but looks reasonably close for general information etc.
