Hello I hope you can help me. Have had really good advice in the past.
My Ariston washing machine stopped during a program and had lights flashing I think three on each side and I was unable to open the door.I tried a quick 30 min wash to see – I know..impatient! – and it started to fill then stopped again. It won’t drain, it won’t spin. I have managed to open the door by unplugging at the mains – along with all the water !! – and have emptied the load – which was quite heavy – towels bath mats etc – tried to drain again but no joy. It clicks on like it will drain and just does nothing. All pipes seem clear of blockage – any advice would be gratefully recieved – 4 kids and a weeks worth of school uniform to wash !!

Participantf05 – pressure switch stuck on full
this could be quite a few things
1st of all, the pressure switch could be faulty
the pipe from the switch to the pressure bottle could be damaged/kinked
the pressure bottle itself could be clogged up with gungefailing that, its the pcb!! (which will require a new eprom as well)
PLUG OUT if your gonna check it yourself!!
hope this helps

hi, b4 you go too deep, if you were washing bath mats were they the rubber backed type? as it sounds like pump is blocked somewhere as you say it would not empty at all

Come on guys the hint was it doesnt drain. The pump is bound to be jammed hence the flashing lights no matter which ones are flashing.
Best way to deal with it is to get your hubby to pull machine out get drain hose into a bucket and allow it to drain through gravity. Once you’ve got all the water out you can open door without flooding kitchen and remove clothes.

This is a Hotpoint/Indesit hybrid machine. There will be a filter in the sump hose connecting the drum and the pump. Remove rear lower cover for access. Power off, of course.
