    Ariston oven (FM 53 F) doesn’t reach high temperature though thermostat appears to regulate OK in lower temps’ up to about 170 C. Any thoughts on whether this is likely to be a thermostat fault, safety stat fault or what? Many thanks for any advice. Watty

    You may find , if this is a conventional oven that your lower element is o/c.. You would really need an engineer to confirm this I think!

    Thanks Jazz, a useful clue. Now realise the bottom of the oven stays cold so maybe it is the bottom element thats duff. Will investigate & report back. Probably a week or more as cooker & me are 150 miles apart! Thanks again, Watty
