Hi, I’ve recently bought a new house which has an Ariston double electric oven built into the kitchen. The previous owner has obviously removed every last bit of documentation from the house, as they do, meaning I have no idea how to work it.

The grill and top oven work fine but the bottom oven doesn’t.

It might be the timer that’s stopping it, I wouldn’t know what that’s doing though since I can’t figure out how to get it to light up… does this mean it’s probably broken? I assume it’s just meant to light up when the power is connected.

The only information I can find as to what the oven is, is the model number inside the oven door – 208587059 – although I can’t find anything about this model anywhere. It helpfully says to see the back of the unit for more information, something which is a little difficult when it’s bolted into a kitchen unit. 😆

Any ideas or is it just knackered? I’m planning to replace it with a free standing cooker anyway, it’d just be nice to be able to use the bottom oven in the mean time!

    Thanks. 😀

The number you gave doesn’t relate to its model number I’m afraid (probably just the serial no?) 😕

If the appliance has an LED clock then most likely the clock is set to ‘Auto’ with a clock dial icon displaying. If that is the case then you need to press the 2 timesset buttons in together to reset the clock to the ‘manual’ position (usually a hand icon?) 😉

Actually it says that’s the MOD no. I just assumed it meant model, the serial number is 20459200, they’re on the same label. There’s no other markings on it.

The timer display is an LED unit but it’s not illuminated, so I have no idea what mode it’s in or what happens when I press buttons… well, apart from it making a beep. 😆
