Ariston TC720WH double undercounter oven. (Stoves clone; model number 20858057).
Problem:- Main oven (lower oven) won’t heat above 170C. Pre-heat lamp goes out, but oven fan still runs. At 170C, the thermostat knob has no effect when turned up or down. I checked the oven cavity temperature continually with an electronic thermometer and the thermostat was very accurate. 😕
So I fitted a new thermostat and replaced the overheat safety stat. Still stopped heating at 170C. 👿
It is the safety ‘stat that is cutting out too soon; but the new one is identical to the original – fitted in the same position on the back of the oven cavity wall – I can’t see how this can work; but it must have worked from new!!!! :hmm: Is there a mod for this oven or am I missing something bleedin’ obvious?????
Is the cooling fan motor running? I’ve had to replace a couple of these on this model , they’re like fan motors you get in computers (which seems a bit unusual) situated in the middle of the back panel.
Yes, the cooling fan is running fine; but when the back panel is fitted, air from the fan is effectively cut off from the lower oven by a sheet metal ‘shelf’ that separates the top and bottom ovens. I forgot to mention that. 😳
So if there is no airflow by design, why does it cut out? 😕
