ParticipantHi guys, I’ve been out to an arsiton washer today and the water valve had come away from the rear adapter of the cold water hose.
Its hard to explain but instead of the fill hose going straight onto the water valve there is a piece that fixes to the back of the machine and screws into the plastic plate. The hose screws onto that then that piece screws onto the valve itself. I know it sounds really complicated but its not. Its just an extension piece really but the thread have one and its pouring water out.I never really noticed this piece before when changing valves and I presume the hotpoint version has something similar. At the moment i’ve just attached the fill hose directly to the valve but the hose is now inside the machine rather that being on the outside of the machine on the plastic cover.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Nick

I know the bit you mean as I had the opposite problem. It was in the bad weather last winter and I was trying to replace a valve split by frost damage. I got hold of a secondhand one which had the extension part you mention. I tried to remove it but it must somehow have been welded to the main valve moulding. Your only option will be a complete new valve assembly.

I don’t know what model the valve I had came from as it was from a colleague who breaks up machines and just mixes all the valves together. I didn’t actually notice the extension piece until I came to try and fit it to a machine that needed the shorter version of valve.
I just tried to look up the variations of these valves. It gets complicated though as there are single, double and triple; spade terminals and 2 way sockets as well as the extended and non extended variants. I came up with one type, C00143590 listed by Masterpart but with no photo so I can’t tell if that’s the one. 😕November 9, 2010 at 9:34 pm #335291iadom

Two way valve listed as C00066518, picture on Masteraprt site but it doesn’t look as though it has the extension welded to it, could be wrong picture of course.
