Artison margarita 2000 awd12s not draining or fast spinning

Hi all. I’m hoping someone can help. I seem to sort one problem on this machine for another to appear.

At the moment this washing machine is filling with water and will wash up until it needs to drain and fast spin. It won’t drain any water and when it comes to the fast spin, it’ll stop completely and then the dual will start clicking around with 5 red lights.

I’ve emptied the filter under the kick plate and when put on I can see the fan propeller turn freely.
I’ve checked the waste pipe and that seems clog free.
I did pull out a button out of a pipe between the pump and drum and I put the machine on and it drained and span fully, but when I put clothes in it, I selected a dry program and for some reason it filled the drum with water and now it has gone back to not draining or spinning followed by the clicking dial and 5 flashing lights.

Please please can someone advise as I have 2 young kids, cannot afford a new washer. Thanks in advance 🙂

It may have something else blocked in the pump or the pump itself may be failing once it gets warm, not uncommon. A new drain pump is the only option if it is clear throughout.

I’m going to hopefully take the pump off today and have a look at it. I thought it may be a pump failure until the drying program filled the drum with water – would a pump failure cause this to happen? Even if I empty the machine through the kick plate and put it on, on a dry program it still fills the drum with water.

The drying program has water running in all the time to cool the condensor, the pump comes on and off to empty this water,ergo no pump, drum fills with water.
