ParticipantHi All
A couple of days ago I noticed a smell of burnt electronics coming from the door of my Asko D5434 dishwasher. The unit is 4 years old. The smell appears every time the dishwasher is powered up, it does not have to be in a washing cycle. I also noticed a humming sound coming from the door, which was not there before.
I tried to remove the front door panel to see if the source of the smell can be identified, but I could not remove the panel. Undoing six screws at the back of the door frees it up, but it remains connected at the top of the door where there is a narrow plastic trim. I am guessing the plastic holds the panel in place, but it is not obvious how to remove it without damaging it.
Apparently this is different from other dishwasher brands, where removing screws is enough to remove the door panel. If anyone has experience with Asko dishwashers, I would love to here any tips on how to remove the door panel.

ModeratorThe sadly now defunct ISE dishwasher was made by ASKO. I have had a look at the service manual PDF for that and it doesn’t give any strip down details. The only other thing I have is an ASKO training video but that is nearly a 1GB file, possibly too large to send via email.
Not sure if that is still available as a download from this site?

ModeratorJust had a quick look at the video, it may not be for the same model as yours but Asko do tend to use the same design for a long time. I have uploaded it to Google Drive which will allow me to email large files. If you send me a PM with a gmail or googlemail email address I will send it to you.

ModeratorAlways a possibility that your machine is just a rebadged Gorenje.:(

I have not received any emails with a link, checked my spam folder too. Could you perhaps double check the email address and try again?

ParticipantWatched the video, very informative. Unfortunately it does not give details of the door of my model. The good thing is that the smell is now not is bad as before. I no longer leave the dishwasher on all the time, it is turned on only when required, this could have made the difference. I guess I will wait and if the smell gets worse or the thing stops working I will give it another go.

ModeratorI don’t know for sure but I suspect your machine is not a real ASKO but a rebadged Gorenje. I have never seen one of their dishwashers close up.
