    Hi everyone,

I’ve got an Asko W6222 washer that doesn’t seem to heat up the water. I tried a quick and full cycle at 95 degrees and the water doesn’t get warm.

I measured the heating element and it’s 28 ohms which sounds right. The thermistor is about 118 ohms … problem is, I can’t find the service manual for the W6000 series so have no idea what it should be. The part number is 8076102 – no one has it for sale either.

Does anyone know what the resistance should be? The W600 uses a different part number, and is meant to be 40-60K at 20-30 C.

Apart from the thermistor, what else could be the problem?

    Thanks!

Just a quick update, the original thermistor (part 8076102) has been replaced by part number 8801474. The spare parts catalogue for the Asko 6000 series on guaranteedparts.com lists the thermistor’s resistance as 6.1 – 3.8K, which is much higher than my 118 ohms. Time to look for a replacement!

If you ask Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he should be able to order one for you.

I did, unfortunately he is unable to supply it.

I temporarily replaced the thermistor with a fixed resistor and the heater came on, so it’s definitely the thermistor. Hopefully I can find a replacement somewhere!

I managed to order one from Asko Australia. In case anyone’s after one in the future, the thermistor is part no. 8801474 which costs $29.33 plus $15 (!!) shipping.
