    Hello everyone,

RE: ASKO WM70.2 rebadged as ELIN PREMIUM 1600 in Switzerland.

After shipping it back to Australia it looks like the motor controller suffered from corrosion whilst at sea. See attached photo, red circles indicate corroded PCB tracks, black rectangle indicates 12v DC driven 240v relay.

That relay (which functions correctly when 12v is applied in-circuit) appears to control the AC 240v supply to the LNK304GN voltage buck converter (output 12v) which makes no sense to me as 12v is needed to drive the relay.

I repaired the broken PCB tracks but still “Wash Motor Fault”

Question is: what else could have gone bad if that PCB track blew?

    Any ideas?

I don’t know about the motor fault but you will have things backwards

the LNK chip provides the power for the whole of the machines electronics including the relay

Thanks that forced me to take another look, and there is an NTC thermistor parallel to the relay, suggesting this setup is to reduce inrush current at switch on. Once power cap fully charges I guess the relay fires automatically to short it out of the circuit.

The three wire data interface runs at +5v and that +5v is available when the PCB is pulled. As I operate the front panel controls, the voltage of the DATA line fluctuates from it’s 0.38v rest value +/- 0.2 suggesting the front panel is sending data down the data line.

Motor resistances are correct : 4.7 Ohms across all three motor coils (I forgot to check the tacho generator which should be 178 Ohms).

What I am trying to work out is, if I order a new board, will this fix the fault? It’s only 100 quid shipped to Australia but still…

I have a backup machine but I miss the ASKO.

    Any further advice appreciated
