Alex
ParticipantRegards the recent debate on technical assistance.
The main reason I’m taking a stand I hope is quite clear. Anyone that has a query especially on a chargeable call, no problem. In this case the problem is NESN lack of support, assisted by Bonzaco not being able to find a solution. I have helped him many times where he has failed to get support from elsewhere.
He was phoning me every day for silly little things usually at 8.45 in the morning. After a while of listening to him slagging off DASA and the fact he’s not allowed to join the network without being a DASA member, I thought stuff it. I’m bloody fed up with his moans and yet in the same breath expecting to help. He has penned a letter and from what he tells me it isn’t at all complimentary regards Network DASA.
Without dragging on regards the personalities of this matter, I really feel nobody should help NESN/DSG, because that is what appears to be happening. If for example the proposed DASA network was running this or a similar operation, then yes of course I’d help, as I hope I would be part of it. Please rest assured that anything I’m involved in I would do my utmost to assist upon.
I have to say I’m getting a bit tired of banging on, but I hope there are a few more of you who sees my side of this.

we agree on all points alex, I am not bothered by bonz and when he does phone he is usually ok with me. However I agree we should not help NESN’s etc but each other every time…even if bonz is wearing thin
all the best and dont forget to piss down wind 😆November 25, 2003 at 7:44 pm #106324kwatt
KeymasterI don’t have a problem with Bonzo personally other than the fact that he seems to think that he can get a free ride out of ND, which just isn’t going to happen.
That said, I have to agree with Alex on this one 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, why the hell should we bail DSG/Electrue/NESN out the shite *FOR FREE*??!!
After all by walking him through the procedure that is really what you’d be doing, which is fine if it were a one-off but this isn’t.
Regards ND, I do not think that any of the people involved are stupid enough to make the same mistake or at least I hope not, I class most of them as friends these days! But every last one of them is involved with service at the sharp end and that’s the difference, they’re not just glorified salesmen trying to sell something that only exists in their imagination.
Mark has a lot to live up to Ted, eh? 😉

He must do the rounds every morning , just when you are trying to sort your own staff out.
People must join DASA to support the industry, not just wait to see what they can get out of it first. We all have our own costs to carry, yet many of us invest a percentage of our earinings and some people a great deal of time into DASA.
Im sorry but when you are told poor profit in certain areas people cant afford to join DASA. I sorry but for £200 to £300 a year if they cant afford that well its time to get out. I wonder how much these people spend down the pub, gambling………etc.
INVEST in your industry and invest in yourself

KeymasterJP, you should post that in one of the forums the rest of the trade can see as well since you’re obviously very passionate on the subject.

KeymasterYou know I just read over the whole thing that started this again and I have to say I’m a bit agast at it all. Everyone involved argued their case well, all the points were valid and the reasoning sound in every single post.
But, as I said to Ted earlier, the one thing that I have to say I’m over the moon about in it all is the way that everyone behaved. It was exemplary to say the least, everyone involved was an absolute gentleman about it all and that impresses the s**t out of me.
Here’s a thought for you though, that can’t look too good to a WP or manufacturer can it, especially one that wishes to “divide and conquer”? 😉

I agree with all the sentiments here, and we definitely should not help the likes of NESN etc when they are not prepared to help their members. Most of us know this from experience, if they were a building company I think Watchdog may have got hold of them by now for being bodgit and scarper merchants.
Alex, FFS don’t ply bonzy with beer, you never know what might happen 😉
That said he was very gracious over the whole thread when i spoke to him 😀
