ParticipantOk. I get a call to this saying the oven cuts out after 15 mins. I go there and quickly diagnose the safety stat at the back of the oven clicks out.
The customer claims when she puts the thermo in the oven it was reading 230+ when set at 200 so we both agree to change the stat and the regulator. Job done…..
Next day i get a call to say it’s not getting hot enough and when the thermo is in the oven it only reaches 160 when set at 200. I then think maybe wrong part was sent to me. I got sent a hotpoint C00229478 thermostat regulator ET51001/J5. My supplier tells me that is the replacement switch for that model. Ok i then get another one incase it was faulty…
I put it in and at 200 and the light goes out the thermo still only reaches 160. I find according to the regulator( going by light) it gets up to the temp very quickly, seems too quickly compared to other ovens.. I told her to try it but i know she is going to call me to say her roast spuds aren’t getting brown enough again…The fan seems to be going fast enough etc. I put the thermo in my own Electrolux oven and at 200 it goes over 200 no problem…
What am i missing? My supplier still maintains that’s the replacement stat. In fact i put one in another one and no problems……

Hi
Original part number is 3111622027 or 506008303006 and state it is a ET51001/F5
Do not know what the difference between F5 and J5 types but connect do not interlink the zanussi and hotpoint number

Thanks Geoff for the reply, was very helpful. For a test i put a “j5” in my own Electrolux oven. My one is a “F5”. Definately underheats. I have to put it to 220 to get the same level of heat as it was at 150. 😕

Gord knows who your supplier is that spun that yarn? That one is for the Belling type and a different beast altogether. The correct part is, as Geoff says, (506008303006) a bog standard ET51001/F5 stat.
Mind you, there’s nothing worse than a customer that farts around with an oven thermometer. Probably a mechanical bi-metal device that’s as accurate as any government statistic is. :rolls:

Have you not got a digital thermometer? I wouldn’t dream of using a mechanical thermometer as I have known them to be 40 degrees out. £25 and sorted, works in dishwashers and washers too.

Not sure if there`s one fitted to this model but if so check the duct fan and filter on the front rhs.The fan blade may need trimming.
It used to be a common fault on the Parkinson Cowan version.Steve

Go careful there, Micky. Dating a woman who has an oven thermometer is definitley likely to lead to trouble. 😆
