ParticipantHi, I have an Atag 4-ring built-in gas hob. It was bought in Holland in the late 1980s and has no model number on it.
I am searching for a replacement rubber top for the ignition button. It’s about 8mm square.
Or perhaps another make of ignition botton that might fit.
I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice.
Many thanks in advance.

KeymasterHiya,
Without a model number you may well struggle badly to get anywhere. If there is a model number on there it will be underneath the hob on a rating plate, if you can get all the information on that it may well help a lot.
Atag, like others, manufacture/d a plethora of models and it will probably be near impossible to help without any information.
Your best bet may well be Bradshaws who are the UK agent for Atag currently, you should find a link for them in the “Web Links” section of the site.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantHi,
Many thanks for your help. I will try contacting Bradshaws.
By the way, I was wrong about the size – it’s 20mm square, not 8. Sorry about that.
No hope, I suppose that 20mm might be a standard size with some companies, so I might be able to buy a button somewhere and fit it into the space?
The current button is worn through but was very flexible.
Alas the kitchen was built around the hod/worktop, so cannot get underneath it without a huge amount of difficulty.
Anyway, many thanks again – I appreciate it.

None whatsoever unfortunately, the part will be specific to a few Atag models made around the same time. Most manufacturers use a plastic moulded button on their ignition switches, I’ve only ever seen the rubber type on some Neff’s and AEG’s.

ParticipantOK, thank you Dave – that’s handy to know. I have emailed Bradshaws, so hope they can help.
If not, I’ll probably end up plugging the hole with Blue-tack or something 🙂

If you have a Neff it should be far easier to source than an Atag. We will need the full model number of the hob please though. It will be on the underside of the hob or in the user manual.
Neff , Bosch and Siemens (basically all the same product) parts are easy enough to get hold of on the whole .

No I didn’t find one. The suppliers I contacted never replied. 😥
Good luck with your search. I’m sure there are hundreds of people needing similar replacement parts – what a pity that some enterprising company doesn’t do a ‘cut-to-fit’ button.
