Avatar gone astray

Removed my old avatar .gif file to upload a new one …. old one removed no problem, but new one won’t upload … tried from Firefox and IE and from 3 different computers. I select the file to upload, press submit and all seems well, but it just disappears.
Personal information shows a .gif file, but doesn’t display it.
New gif is 65 x 65 and less that 7 kb and made with the same software as the old one that worked.
Anyone got a solution?

Don’t access your profile via the home page. Access via any forum view and then upload as you have been doing and it should accept it OK. 🙂

Hi Martin …. I did that (I saw your previous posts on the subject) still no go.
My techie 15 year old couldn’t make it work either, he even tried hosting the gif elswhere and linking it.
He suspects it’s something to do with the site’s anti-virus.

Probably so turbo, I tested with my own crappy avatar and that’s gone too, so christ knows (or possibly Ken does?) what’s occuring? ….we shall see. 😉

I’m sorry that you’ve lost your as well …. it was seeing your animated toolbox monsters that made me want to make one.
Soon as I find out anything I’ll let you know.

Thanks for trying there Ken, much appreciated but sadly manual up-loading didn’t work either. 🙁

There’s probably too many duplicate avatars in the gallery screwing up any chance of adding new ones perhaps?….? 😕

But at least you tried and can’t say fairer that that….cheers! 😀

Avatars seem to be borked again, I can use a bog standard one from the gallery but if I try to use an animated gif that I have used in the past it is not being displayed. 😕

Still cannot use any uploaded avatar, animated or otherwise. all of them have been used in the past but I can only select ones from the gallery ATM. 😥

Martins avatar keeps adding extra washing to the machine without ever removing the last lot. It reminds me of the bloke who had been told to put on a clean pair of socks each day but by the end of the week couldn’t get his shoes on. 😆
