I was up with the larks this morning and drove a good way out of my area to attend an AW23 showing E21 = motor related fault.

I found that the base was flooded due to a leak from the soap inlet hose under the dispenser. Changed this hose and then proceeded to run the machine. Although the motor looks sound, brushes etc OK and has perfect insulation readings when set to either wash or spin the motor would run smoothly for around 90 seconds then cut out with E21 in display.

I fitted a new motor and watched it complete a full spin cycle and also wash perfectly for five minutes then left.

I have just arrived home to a message to say the machine has stopped again but is now showing E41.???

This is not a listed error code, any ideas, suggestions. 😕

If memory serves all the E4* codes are heater related. 😕

Hmmm, the only E4 code shown is E42 which is supposed to be a door lock delayed opening fault. 😕

Have you asked them to reset it and try?

Yes, going to pop back in the morning, not somewhere I want to be driving to on a Monday morning. 😥

    Hi Jim

Had the same E41 fault a while ago, it was a wire burnt off the heater element

Will bear that in mind although the heater wiring looked perfect.

Just got back from looking at this one again, it’s such a pleasure to drive into and through the city centre when the roads are empty. 8)

He admitted he had made a mistake with the E41, it was coming up E21 again. I did not move or touch anything, reset it to spin without a load and it set off perfectly, ramped up to slow spin and then at exactly 8 mins on display it cut out with E21 showing. I tried this three times and at the same time exactly , 8 mins it cut out again.

I once again pulled very hard on all of the motor plug wiring but could find no breaks. Tried it once more with the same results.

I am a very reluctant PCB changer, unless there is obvious physical damage it’s usually my last resort.

I changed the PCB and set it to spin and it completed a full spin cycle. I then filled it with a wash load and observed it doing a full wash, rinse & spin.

There is still the outside possibility of a tiny break somewhere but logic says that it wouldn’t cut out at exactly 8 mins every time if that was the case, and as that was without a load there was no vibration to cause it either.

    Time will tell. 😉

PS . What are ISE’s rates for 7.30, Sunday morning calls. 😆
