went out this appliance the other day with customer saying that machine starts to fill and then throws up error code of first three lights coming up and then nothing.

Sure enough tried the machine, it fills and then D1, D2 & D3 illuminate with book showing that remedy is Door Should Be Closed, The door is actually locked and if you try the machine just on spin the fault occurs exactly the same.

Have had interlock and PCB out and they look ok, have checked Motor, Heater and Pump all seem fine. Customer then tells me another engineer from another company called out about eight weeks earlier for same issue and told them that he had removed the back and reset something inside ?

The machine has been working ok until present but is now showing original fault again. My mind is set of the PCB as the wiring chart traces the interlock connections 1.2.3. to it and the hand book shows this as a door lock issue in that the machine thinks the door is not closed.

Any thoughts on this one ? 🙂

Try the motor this is the favourite – everything looks fine but can infact be faulty only other course is to check the wiring loom between module and motor

Mm ? Motor ? The thing is this machine is outside warranty so customer is liable for parts and labour. I don’t have another motor to hook on to eliminate that diagnosis. as I say the motor meters out ok and the only way really is to return with a new motor and if that does not cure this fault work backwards on the loom from motor plug to PCB. If you happen to have a motor and PCB on hand then its far easier to do this but other than that your relying readings obtained from the components and the service manual gives little clues.

    Anyway Thanks, Appreciated.

If you ask Amica nicely they may lend you a pcb and motor to try 😉 …..
