One or two I’m afraid! 😆

TBH I’m fed up with people like that, that simply think taking the “I’m going to sue you” stance cuts any ice with me and I really don’t want to see that attitude being promoted before a reasonable discussion with the retailer and/or manufacturer.

Sad thing is he was a plumber and did have access to the related trades, I removed that access last night after he responded. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows that when a moderator (let alone site or list admin) tells you to belt up, you do. At thatpoint you take the debate private, he chose not to and reaped the rewards of his actions.

He has mailed me though. 🙄

Gets my goat though, we wonder why we get aggresive customers, well IMO, it’s people like that and opinions like those in the media that have made customers aggresive which is totally counter-productive as we all know. 😉

It was to do with that thread about the Indesit dishwasher internal plastics discolouring and the guy’s (Softus) responses.

    Re: Awkward Customers

Made me mad yesterday a customer called me out to fix a miele washing machine they had moved the m/c and caught the program dial on a door and snapped the shaft. Miele won,t supply the shaft on its own so had to order the complete board £240. Customer to my suprise said yes go ahead and order the parts got a phone call this morning ,his misses went mad at the cost and told to cancel parts. So from now on im going to ask for cash up front for expensive parts.

Many of us fall foul of this one (wife says yes, husband later says no) and often the job is cancelled after you have ordered the part. Expensive to return both in postage and wholesalers handling charges 🙁

As you say Mowerman, you can always ask for cash up front or even charge a ‘non-refundable deposit for non stock items’ is a better alternative to consider. Very often I allow a ‘cooling off period’ on jobs such as this by not ordering the part on the day. I advise my customer to have a word with hubby when he comes home and if you want me to go ahead, then ring me if they want me to order the part.

I was once in a house everthing was fine the “Lady” of the house was polite whilst I repaired her appliance I completed the repair (first time), she then went completly nuts and went to the nearest cupboard and proceeded to throw cups, plates, and cereal bowls at me. Just because I used the “Its time to pay me phrase”.

If you are getting interested I will share with you my first encounter with leporasy (Im not Joking). 😆

    Okay

I called at a house one day and as the lady opened the door I immediately noticed two things, one the house was one of those that you need to wipe your feet on the way out and two the lady only had one arm. I started to work on the machine and asked (like you do) “How did you lose the arm then”?.

To which she replied I have leporasy!!@??. NO WAY I though that happened in the bible a long ago not now in St Helens, the lady then kindly informed that it was strange that her home help had it as well and had lost three fingers.

    TRUE STORY

Do you want to know what was wrong with the machine?

She had to be winding you up. Maybe she just didn’t like people getting too close.
