    Hi all,
    I have i two year old Indesit 1000 HIL103.
It was working a treat until last week, when the door lock light started to flash and do nothing else.

It flashes repeatedly but does not engage the door lock and hence the washer will not start?
We have changed the door lock, but that did not change anything.
We also took off the door lock and engaged the lock manually, the light stayed on, but the start button still would not come on.

Yesterday we found 21 pence in the exit pipe and i am think that may have blown the pump and one of the circuit boards??

Any help would be great as our baby will be here in two weeks, and i think we will need the washing machine. 😆 😆

WIL103? Presumably a board fault, as it is powered directly by the computer.

As your wash loads are shortly to increase by a factor of three (Oh, yes!), you would be best served by biting the bullet and investing in something more robust.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, I’m afraid, but repairs would run to over half the cost of the machine in the first instance.

    Regards,

Good quality machines suitable for family use……..

That’s ours – a simple, robust appliance with a unique service package.

Having got the “vested interest” plug done, others to consider are Bosch/Seimens in the mid-range, ASKO and Miele are the class of the field, but expensive. If budget is an issue, have a look at the Gorenje range – not bad for the money.

Just bear in mind that the old adage “You get what you pay for” has never been so true! Set a budget of at least £300 – £350 would be better.
