I recently moved house and eventually got round to installing washing machine and ‘desk-top’ dishwasher (on top of washing machine). The dishwasher leaked a couple of times – I hadn’t done the connections up tightly enough…- which may then have leaked into washing machine….
When I got round to trying a wash with the washing machine, after selecting the prog and pressing start – a loud bang came from the washing machine. Couldn’t get washing machine to do anything.
I had a local electrician come and have a look – immediately discovered blown fuse, and managed to repeat event, but couldn’t pinpoint problem… – he has checked out everything he can think of – door lock, control board, motor…. but with no joy finding the fault.
The machine is only 5 years old and hasn’t been used that much, and am reluctant to have to bin it for what could be a minor fault.
Is it worth further investigation, or should I just accept that these things aren’t meant to last…..? Any suggestions welcome….
