ParticipantHad an email today from Bark.com saying they wish to facilitate referred appliance repairs in my area. Email goes thus – (cut’n’paste)
Hi,
Our client David is looking for Appliance Repair in Dorset. The client has asked us to find a suitable company to help them and we thought that your company might be a good fit.View project details (Sebo cleaner with intermittent cable fault.)
What is Bark?
Bark.com is a lead generation service. Customers tell us their needs on Bark.com and we then find suitable companies to help fulfil their requirement. We normally require you to purchase Bark credits to contact the customer but as youβre not currently registered we are happy to offer this lead to you without charge as a special introductory offer.
If you have any other questions you can call us on 0207 117 2656 (9am-6pm Mon-Fri) or email team@bark.com, we’ll be happy to help.
Best regards,
The Bark TeamAddress :- Bark.com 1 Kingdom Street, London W2 6BD 0207 117 2656.
I wouldn’t normally bother with a cleaner repair anyway; but my curiosity got the better of me. Anyone know this outfit?
Steve.

Well Bark.com seem to have bought out Skillpages, a business so good that it claimed to have 20 million users, it still went bust with debts of 24β¬ million. :rolls:

Looks like the customers happier than the skilled tradespeople.

Sorry but, I really can’t be doing with these parasites.
People that sit in the middle, between you guys and your customers, taking a cut for having hoovered up leads off the internet.
Sadly, they seem to not be going away.
My take is that, unless you’re really, really desperate a wide berth should be given.
Get yourself a decent website and you’ll probably do better than these muppets on Google Local anyway, largely without trying. But, if you’re not prepared to put in any effort, they win, you lose.

Had one earlier, wow, what a catch their ‘clients’ are!
I’m trying not to incur a call out charge for nothing. We have tenants in the house and they have said the cooker’s ignition does not work. I am unsure if this has a battery or should be connected to the wall (just for the ignition). Its a gas cooker. If its broke I’ll gladly pay to fix it at a reasonable price. I just don’t want to pay a call out charge for someone to look at it.
Well worth paying money to get clients like this.
Don’t think I’ll bother though.
