😯 Hi, my Bauknecht GSX7551 is showing a fault code of 9 flashes. A week or so back the machine would not drain and I fitted a new drain pump. We have also noticed that we get an intermitant ‘machine gun’ effect. I had hoped the new pump would sort this problem, but to no avail. The machine seemed to work ok again until last night. Is it cost efective for me to carry on trying to repair it, or should I bite the bullet and buy a new machine? Any advice will be gratefully recieved. Thanks.

Bauknecht is a dead duck – you have a Whirlpool with a badge stuck on the front. 9 is a basically a run-away fill valve. Given that you say that it pulses on and off, the problem is the computer board.

😛 Thank you Penguin! Is this something that can be repaired or replaced? If so, where about on the machine is it housed. I’ve had no need to build an ark, so I assume that the valve is itself ok and the computer is sending spurious signals. The pulsing you mention, is that the ‘machine gun’ sound we can hear?

I really appreciate your help. Thank you again.

PCB is behind the lower kick panel. P/no is 4812 214 78853. Be very sure in your mind that you wish to do this as the part will be over £100 and will not be returnable under any circumstances…….

😕 Thank you. That’s food for thought…I know the item in qusetion now. Is it possible that it could be a bad connection or something silly like that?…or is that just wishful thinking on my behalf?. I’ll try anything once!

Thanks again Penguin, it’s really appreciated.
