    Hi,
I have a built in oven & hob, it looks like its a Baumatic B180. I’m having an issue with the grill function, it seems to heat up nicely but after grilling for a couple minutes it then cools down again, and it does this the whole time i’m using it. As far as im aware, a grill is supposed to be a constant heat? this is making it really diffcult to cook with. Any idea why it would be doing this?
    Many thanks

    Hi

Your grill will operate on a thermostat and unlike the old grills that glow red the newer ones due to the efficiency ratings and requirements made by the EU to reduce the electricity use and will switch on and off once a temperature has been reached.

There is nothing that can be done whilst the appliance is under warranty.

Hi, This grill does glow red. It was in the house when we moved in and I believe was installed when the house was built around 10-15 years ago. As such is is not under any warranty.

To be honest it sounds as if it’s working as it should do.

The element should “cycle” like that normally as most will, they do not normally operate any other way.

My b180ss runs off the thermostat. Have you tried a higher temp?
