    Hi,

During the wash cycle, the dishwasher is making quite a high pitch noise. It’s never done this before so I’m not sure whether to be concerned or not.

The dishwasher is heating the water OK, rinsing OK, and draining fine. The noise only occurs during the wash cycle i.e. when the rotar arms are moving.

Any thoughts on what the loud noise could be and what I can check ? I replaced the drain pump about 3 months, a broken cable 6 months ago, so I know my way around the dishwasher a little.

well it has to be something thats moving

as it starts to make the noise try jamming each bar in turn to see if it stops. if no I would suspect the wash motor

Removed both water rotar arms, and the noise persists the second the wash cycle / water gets pumped. I suspect as you say, it could be the wash motor. Looks relatively straight forward to replace ? only downside is it looks a little on the pricey side.

it seems to be a pump used on a few different models and yes Baumatic are known for silly prices

suggest you ask site shop if they can source at a better price

Thanks Dave – it’s also occured to me, maybe just put up with the noise till it packs in – might get days, weeks, months, years. who knows??!

Just a thought, If its the motor bearing and it wears more, is the motor likely to leak water ?

could be leaking that made the bearings go
