Baumatic BDW16 – water not getting to spray arms

Hi,

I have had a Baumatic BDW16 intergrated dishwasher for a few years now and it seems to have developed a fault with getting water to the spray arms (top and bottom). If I put it on the fastest cold rinse program it does the following:

1 – Fills up with cold water
2 – makes a humming noise – this should be when the arms are turning and spraying water. Humming noise is not too loud and would not be audible under normal circumstances.
3 – drains the water
4 – program ends

So, the problem appears to be that water is not getting to the spray arms but it is filling and it is draining – the arms are dry at the end of the program.

I thought it was the fact that the rubber seal on the nut that the top spray arm pipe goes into had perished so ordered and fitted a genuine replacement part but the same problem still persists.

As it’s pumping and draining I’m wondering what the next thing to check should be.

Sounds like a defective circulation pump to be honest, you need to confirm the main pump isn’t blocked first

Turns out it was a failed capacitor. Replaced that and it’s now working fine.
