She’s had problems with this since new, but was palmed off on the phone by Baumatic telling her it was her house electrics.

2 years later and she’s finally managed to save up and get her house electrics changed, and the fault is still there, yet no longer under warranty!!

    She had two problems:

    Problem 1
Whenever she tried to put both the main and side oven on at the same time, it would trip her RCD.

She put up with it, just using her main oven, until the fan element went, which I have replaced today.

The main oven functioned fine after I replaced the element, until she told me about the two-oven problem, so I switched on the 2nd oven and the RCD tripped. ❗

Now, you can select the side oven on its own and it works fine.
The main oven does not want to play at all now, though – it trips as soon as the oven selector and timer are both away from their off positions, even without an input from the main oven t/stat. With side oven switched off also, by the way.

I’ve continuity and insulation checked all the components individually and insulation checked the whole appliance with every possible combination of selections of the main oven, timer and side oven switches – all with good readings. :bang:

I’m suspecting the main oven selector switch is at fault here.

    Problem 2:
The ~ neon (the power on indicator) never came on, except when the main oven t/stat neon came on – they both came on together sometimes, but not always.
The side oven t/stat neon sometimes came on for a couple of days or more, without any selection of the side oven – it just came on and went off of its own accord on operation of the main oven!
Now, since replacing the fan element and not being able to select anything on the main oven without tripping the RCD, the ~ light comes on and stays on when mains power is going to the appliance, so it appears to be operating as it should. And the side oven neon is coming on when it should with the side oven t/stat.

Have I lost anyone, yet? !!!

Does anyone have a wiring diagram and some useful info for me, please?

    Many thanks,
    Pigpen.
