ParticipantHi we have a Baumatic BT2710SS 90cm Multi function twin cavity cooking theatre. Have attached pic.
The Fan Oven (the main Oven) is not heating up properly, was working fine then this week turned it on to heat up and after 1 hour it was barely warm to the hand when supposed to be 200 degrees.. The Oven sounds like its working normally, fan whirring lights are on etc but its just not heating up properly.
All other components/features appear to be fine 9 The Hobs, The Grill, The Smaller Over/ and its grill its just the main oven that seems not to be working properly.
Having read other posts here am hoping we can buy a part and fix ourselves..
The oven is out of warranty although only approx 3 years old. I am hoping to buy part and fix ourselves as opposed to paying call out costs and Engineer Time, Labour etc.
Look forward to your replies
Thankyou in advance for your time & support

Hi tamba,
Fan element will be faulty.
It’s a Lofra made cooker for Baumatic and the fan element for it is an astounding price, in fact I’m utterly gobsmacked at it, over £100 from the official distributor.
So I dug about and got this for the pukka item…

Hi K YOU are a STAR thank so much for not only finding us not only the part but one at more than 1/2 the price of the official spare part. Wow £100 I too cld not believe the cost even more thankful I did not call engineer then with callout chare ontop of the part price and Labour ouch!
K do you reckon its fairly straightforward to replace using the following advice. I imagine 1st one is EXCELLENT & Very reliable
but what about the other one:-http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix-it-yourself/ovens-hobs-a-cookers/2717-why-fan-oven-elements-fail-a-replacement-notes.html
and this advice http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/advice/cooker-repair/replacing-faulty-oven-fan.htm
Prices of some manufacturers parts is simply crazy at times only the other week we needed to replace a simple plastic light cover for our cookerhood. Not only wld this have been the 3rd time it needed replacing (seems to just drop down eve 6 months or so, seriously either when wiping over it with cloth or also when noone is in the same room, just drops down) The problem is the design apparantly the clip is too small for its purpose :rolls:
Allegedly the manufacter had been notified plenty of times by the parts company & consumers after multiple complaints espec as it cost just under £20 a throw plus nearly a tenner postage !!!( thankfully the parts comapny was very understnading and replaced 2 of them on warranty). We just found out recently the cooker hood model is no longer being made and the part is no longer available either not even from the parts manufacturer who supplied the Cooker Hood manufacturer in the first place grrrr .
The official advice was “sorry cant help as we dont make that model anymore” the unofficial advice go to B&Q and see if theres a cooker hood light cover thats a close as poss match to the part we need and somehow get it to fit, suggestion were jam it ,stick it, glue it tape it (obv with suitable materials for the job) but seriously!
As we currently have no light cover so grease just goes up the exposed hole ???? Weve not found anything that works yet.
as you were so helpful with teh fan element I dont spose you cld maybe help with this too, any sugestionsthat are better than the one weve been given???

Blanco parts are, I’m afraid, pretty much impossible. 🙁
Even those Lofra parts are virtually impossible to get and you’ve sadly found out why. 😕
A lot of brands are in store only and there are a few that, whether we agree or not, they are under no obligation to stock spares for at all.
