Baumatic BT3500SS Fan Element?

My 3yr old baumatic dual fuel range cooker decided to prove me wrong only a few hours of commenting how it worked without problems…

The fan oven function is not giving any heat despite the fan working – all other functions seem ok – I opened up the back panel inside the oven and felt a rough area round back-top of the ring lement, does this means the element has gone?

The guarantee form was never sent back to baumatic so I’m guessing I won’t be covered under their 5yr parts guarantee… If I attempt the job myself (will probably have to take the external back cover off too), is there a part I can order from here? Or how much would one of the engineers in the Luton area generally charge for a fan element repair?
