I would really appreciate any thoughts on this one PLEASE

The model no of the oven is B200LS/A. The timer had blown tracks so I replaced the timer and light bulb. No earth faults etc and elements all O.K. Tested oven to 180deg and all O.K.

Customer used oven for 1st time. After running for about 20 mins heard a pop and timer has gone again!! 🙁 and the bulb casing has blown. Is it possible that the lampholder is causing a short and blowing the timer. It all looks O.K. and meggers out O.K.

I obviously don’t want to fit another timer until I’m sure what could be causing the fault. ❓

Sounds like it is the lampholder. It is a problem I came across a few times when I was working for hotpoint. The fault only occurring with heat. difference is we just used to change anything to try and cure the fault hehe. I would go for the lampholder first and see if I could repair the tracks on the timer to prove te fault.
