We would appreciate help please with a problem with our BDW060 (Homark?) dishwasher, nearly 6 years old. Items on the upper rack (mainly mugs & glasses) are being left with gritty residue on the inside and outside. This is an intermittent fault as sometimes the wash result is fine.
We have tried all the troubleshooting steps – filters and spray arms are not dirty or blocked. We wondered if there is a problem with the rotation of the upper spray arm, as sometimes this seems to hit the housing of the tablet holder at the front of the upper rack.
We also noticed that the upper spray arm spare part has been superseded by 32X1996, which is a different shape. Does this means there was a design fault with the original arm? In which case should we would consider replacing the arm?

Re: BDW060 upper spray arm design fault?

Parts get changed all the time for any number of reasons, the original supplier went bust, there’s a change in the shape, the colour and even sometimes the bin location can trigger a change. Most often, unless there is a specific explanation provided no reason will be offered.

I’ve seen parts with 13 or more supersessions of the part number so it’s very common.

Is the grit you’re getting perhaps this:

It’s all too often, when reported as intermittent, something that has blocked the spray arm/s or just junk off the plates being redeposited. If it were an actual fault it would happen all the time and the wash results would always be poor.

    K.
