Bearing kit for Hoover TV30 Tumble dryer

HI, The bearing appear to have seized on my dryer. Looked on 4Hoovers spares and it says that the bearing are no longer available are there any alternatives? Also are there any schematics available to show how to replace ?
Alos woudl it be wise to replace the shaft as well?

Strange as it may seem this question has just been asked on the trade side, there is bad news and erm, bad news. 😥 There is no bearing kit as such, and a complete drum assy plus bearing kit is the only cure. You may find that your ‘Candy’ dryer is BER ( beyond economic repair) it may be covered by manufacturers five year parts guarantee if it is under five years old, if not it may be time to invest in something else.

I’ve just sourced several online places to buy this kit. I too have a TV30 that’s displaying all the signs of a collapsed bearing, and am absolutey adamant that this thing is not BER, so am going to fix it.

If it breaks down completely I’ve no money to replace a whole one, and besides, I have a major problem with our ‘disposable’ lifestyle, and refuse to buy whitegoods that are so cheap their BER envelope is tiny.

The “bearing” you are about to buy, however cheap, is actually just the drum shaft kit with 3 rivets. Completely useless without the bearing for it to fit into. 😉 The bearing is not available separately; crazy, but true.
Iadom is right – unfortunately, and we both speak from frustrated experience of many, many customers in your position.
This drier is a Candy in a dress – and this bearing unit has long been it’s Achille’s Heel. Now, you either get the manufacturer to repair it, with a whole drum assembly (uneconomical if not under warranty) or the other option is to buy a better quality drier. Yes, it will cost more, but sadly, you have experienced the alternative. 😥

It’s true! Those dryers suck!

I wish there was a way to economically fix them, because I see at least one a week with the bearing and shaft goosed 🙁
